For Your Consideration is a weekly round-up of upcoming indie limited releases. The idea is to either expose you to or remind you of films that can't afford to plaster their posters on the sides of buildings or accompany your Happy Meal in toy form.
Unfortunately there isn't anything new this week worth recommending, but Big Fan will be opening in Los Angeles. We've posted it's entry from two weeks ago below. If you're curious about the rest this week's debuts, we have No Impact Man - yet another narcissistic documentary, but this time it's "about" the environment - and if you're still adamant about hearing the rest please refer to http://www.beyondareasonabledoubtmovie.com/ and ye shall find only sorrow.
CRUDE filmmaker Joe Berlinger will attend select shows at the IFC Center in NY. He will be at the 7:55pm and 10:15pm shows on September 10, 11 and 12, and the 12:55pm and 5:30pm shows on September 13.
Following the 7:15pm show of CRUDE on September 18 and 19 at the Nuart in LA, filmmaker Joe Berlinger will hold a Q&A session. He will then introduce the 10:00pm show on both days.
Director Joe Berlinger and editor Alyse Ardell Spiegel will discuss their use of Macs and Final Cut Studio on the film CRUDE at the Apple Store Soho on September 10 at 7:00pm. There will be no screening attached.
Are you tired of having to filter through a million different websites trying to find information regarding limited releases, Q&As, and advance screenings in LA and NY? The Calanander does the hard work for you and is dedicated to helping people spend more time watching movies than trying to figure out when they'll be able to. And if you're one of those people thinking "I never have that problem because I don't care about lame ass Q&As and shit!" then a) you're not very nice and b) you should learn to take advantage of opportunities presented by a big city other than mind-numbing traffic.
Just click on any link on the Calanander for more information. Don't forget to scroll to the bottom for the release dates calendar!
